How can I set up sponsorship for a marathon online, that includes my travel expenses?
Ideally I'd like to pay for all the travel expenses myself, but because I'm a student and I'm doing a marathon in america (I live in the UK) I need to get some of the donations to subsidise my travel expenses.
I know sites are around like justgiving but, all the money goes to the charity with those sites. I suppose it's better that some of the money goes to charity rather than none at all.
Nope, what it actually is, is you going on holiday on charitable donations, which sounds as criminal as it probably is. Self fund your trip, or do the marathon in the UK, you dont need to go to the states to run a marathon. Oh unless you like the idea of a large fraudulent carbon footprint, from you stamping over the earth, crushing the misguided souls who sponsored you.
This is a perfect example of why people should stick to registered charities directly.
