Driver Shaft Recommendations?

I'm looking to replace the shaft in my driver. I'm 14 years old, 5'11, 145 lbs, and a scratch (0) handicap. My clubhead speed is probably about 105-110 mph. My typical shot off the tee is a mid to high straight ball with maybe a little draw or cut. I average about 275-285 off the tee in standard weather conditions. My current driver is a 10.5* Titleist 909 D3 with a Graphite Desgn Tour AD YS-6+ stiff shaft. I'm looking for a shaft that's reasonably forgiving, stable, provides a mid-high launch, and increases workability and shot shaping ability. My 909 D3 is NOT leaving my bag anytime soon, so please don't recommend I get a new driver, like a TaylorMade R9 or a Callaway Diablo Edge or something to that effect. Any priced shaft will do. Thank you very much and I eagerly anticipate your replies. golfboy2k5

I read your "will I qualify" question, and recognise you're a big hitting youngster with a great passion for golf, but pretty wild.
I hope you don't mind me saying that.. most people would give their eye teeth to go round in level par, but you have to understand that control does NOT come from technology. Look back at great players - Tom Watson had phenomenal power and control pre graphite days, and still does - and should have lifted the Open trophy at almost 60. Jack Nicklaus' power / control / records will never be surpassed (all with steel). Ben Hogan defied logic with mastery that seems impossible with the fishing rod shafts of his era.
To make the big league you have to hit a minimum 90 percent cut stuff off the tee; the rough is a hack out on many tough tracks.
My own opinion on golf shafts is simple. I just want zero torque (twist) and as stiff as possible....just so long as the club is not too heavy for me.
The answer is in your own hands. E-mail me, mblake_3@yahoo.co.uk, and I will let you know Hogan's secret, something that took me 50 years to figure out!
Regards, Mel Blake
