Need to remember a book I read when I was younger...?
The only thing I can remember is it was a time traveling book. The protagonist went back in time to save his father, and the portals open periodically and in different places so the characters are always on guard. Oh and another thing I remember them being in a cave when a mammoth blocked the entrance to the cave and they fell asleep. The mammoth moved and they nearly froze to death. I remember something about a giant sloth too... If anyone could help me remember the name to this book I would appreciate it tremendously.
