Halloween Makeup Help (Wizard or Mage)?
Heya,
I am making my costume all myself..nothing purchased (well besides props/makeup/cloth) and originally I was going to wear an old man wizard mask but then I remembered how much I hate masks and how big they are and hard to see so I decided to do something else. My costume itself consist of a black Cloak (with purple lining) with hood, and a dark coal grey tunic (long tunic)with blood red lining (sorta seltic) around the edges, then brown cloth/leather books and a wizard staff. What I need help on is makeup..I don't really need anything elaborate..just don't want to look silly. I don't even have to look old. I was thinking of making my face pale with dark circles under my eyes..and maybe doing white/silver hair...I wanted to do pointed ear prothestics but I have no clue what to buy to blend it right and all that..never dealth with that before.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..maybe there is a easier simple effect with normal makeup that I am not aware of..I be male btw!
Maybe I would suggest getting a lighter color pancake makeup. So you apply all over your face and makes it look lighter than your skin tone, dont go too light or you might look silly. Just light enough to make you look pale. Get some brown eye liner and use that around your eyes and smudge it to feater the color so it gradates to the base color. Then get some black eyeliner and use it around your eyes to add mote depth. Prosthetics are good, but make sure you glue them and then apply makeup to you ear and prosthetic so they match the color. Makeup is all about shading and volume. check some sites and play around before you decide what to do. You can achieve a lot with a base and brown, black and a white pencil for highlights.
