What position do you take on the thorny issue of beating other peoples servants?
Like all normal people, Im sure you all thrash your servants to within an inch of their lives whenever the situation may require it-a tardy gin and tonic here, an ill polished boot there, or perhaps just for good old fashioned fun.
But what position should you take if you happen to be visiting an acquaintance and one of their staff fail to reach expected standards? Should you pay for a replacement if you get a bit carried away and they die during your discipline?
There are two schools of thought on this one old chum. The first being that its just not cricket to beat another gents servants far better to leave it to the lord of that particular manner to administer a thorougher thrashing once his guest has left.
I however am of the second school of thought, thus being a servant "must" be beaten to death by a gents guest if he is not up to scratch any diversion in this matter will simply lead to shoddiness amongst the lower social order, and that simply won't do.
I myself have lost several servants at the hands of a less than impressed guest and have shaken his hand in thanks over the freshly beaten corpse. Tip top.
