What do the initials and brand names stand for with the units after them for Graphics cards?
Whenever I look up cards they extremely different numbers for their company for instance there is ATI Radian HD 5780 cards and there are like GTX 260, and then there are cards that are like 9500LE . I know GTX 260 cards are fairly good, same with the Radian HD 5780, but it seems like the initials change the whole system. There are plain GT cards then GTX cards like, what units are they using? what do these mysterious initials stand for?
They're the model of card. Just a means of distinguishing one card from another. It's like it is with cars. One company has one naming scheme, while another does something completely different. Only by comparing specs can you know exactly which one is better.
