Where do I stand regarding customs and my parcel?
I live in the UK and ordered a parcel on-line from New Zealand totaling a little over £30. I received a note from the post office (p.o.) informing me that in order to receive my parcel I must pay almost £13 to customs. I emailed the company in NZ asking them to refund me the cost of this but they have refused, stating as a good will gesture they will refund me with some goods the next time I order, and that they cannot be held responsible for customs.
1 - I do not wish to order ANY more goods off them.
2 - If I do not pay the customs charge, the package will go back to them, who will then open it to discover senders address, as the NZ company cleverly didn't put a return address on it!
3 - Can I get a refund from NZ company as technically I still havent received the goods?
Any ideas on how I can either get my money back or get my goods without having to pay more?
Technically, you did receive the goods, you just refused to accept them. I tend to agree with the company- they are not responsible for customs. There is no way to get your goods without paying the customs.
