I have dyed my hair red for along time and now i want to go back to brown but it wont cover?
is there a hair dye out there that will cover red? I want to dye it back to brown and let it grow through naturally but it wont cover

No, you can't cover it up. You need to understand how hair colouring works.
First -- you don't dye hair. Dye is for fabrics, and doesn't work the same on hair.
Brown is made up of the 3 basic colours: yellow, red, and blue. It's true! They are in about equal levels to make the neutral colour of brown. If you have a little more yellow or gold, you have golden brown hair. A little more red-orange, and you have reddish brown, or auburn hair.
Now that you have coloured it red, you need to get the red out first. Putting brown on it, will mean you have an excess of red, plus the red in the brown, and you won't be any better off. There are products that remove artificial colours -- NOT a bleach -- called colour removers. It may not be easy to find. You might have to get it done professionally. You certainly don't want to use bleach on this, since it will dissolve more of your hair. This you don't want!
It will leave your hair in a gold-orange state, because your hair has been bleached by the hair colour you used before. It has to do that to make it red. Once the red is removed, you can use a brownish hair colour, close to your own natural colour. You may want to use a neutral brown, or something with a bit of ash in it, to tone down the gold. Again, you really need to know what you are doing here -- too much ash, and you can be dull, or greenish.
It may be best to have this done by a professional hair colourist who has all the tools and products and the skill and experience needed. You might also try a hairdressing school, although it may take a little longer, but they are all supervised and you will get the same quality of work done.
There are some things you need to be aware of as it grows out, so ask all the questions.
